Album Art

I love music. I also love playing around with design tools.

Peter Saville has been a graphic designer since the late 1970’s and is most well known as Factory Records in-house designer. He’s been responsible for some of the most beautiful and iconic album covers in the history of music. His style ranges between minimalist representations of the music itself, to elaborate (and sardonic) images commenting on society at large. New Order remains one of my all-time favourite bands; I thought it would be fun to take a stab at reinventing some of their classics.

LCD Soundsystem’s music is hard to pin down. Electronic? Dance Punk? Disco? House Music? Straight-forward rock? Yes. Their “final concert” (ha ha) remains a defining moment of New York in the 2000’s (2011, to be exact.)

All images were created using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Fresco.

it’s almost summer ….
