A little more detail
The things I’ve done.
I’ve been working professionally since 1997
I’m a young soul.
Publicis Sapient
Director, Senior Client Partner. May 2015 - Present
Part of Publicis Groupe, Publicis Sapient provides digital transformation services to a variety of industries. As a part of retail leadership for North America, I ensure our clients take full advantage of our capabilities, while advocating on their behalf within the agency. I assemble teams, lead the process, and pitch the client.
Indigo Books and Music
Director, Ecommerce Product. Jan 2014 - May 2015
I helped Indigo develop its digital roadmap and achieve short, medium, and long-term ecommerce goals across traditional online, mobile, and omnichannel experiences. Working closely with internal and external technology partners, I ensured our digital experiences were optimized for both our user’s experience and sales conversion.
Walmart Canada
Ecommerce Portfolio Lead. Jul 2013 - Jan 2014
I was the primary point of contact for Walmart Canada with the Global Ecommerce team and Walmart Labs. Applying global best-practices in Agile methodology, I helped Walmart leverage their global technology investment in the Canadian market.
Sears Canada
AVP Ecommerce, Digital Marketing, Operations, and Strategy. Aug 2010 - Jul 2013
I led design and development for sears.ca, at the time one of the largest ecommerce experiences in Canada. Earlier in my time at Sears, I led digital strategy and marketing for Sears’ “Specialty Services”, including Sears Financial and Sears Home Services.
Various Roles
1997 - 2010
Starting my career in financial services, I was a business analyst for RSA Insurance, identifying areas of profitability and exposure through data analytics (I was a spreadsheet and MS Access junkie.) I worked for consulting firms (CGI) developing product solutions for the insurance industry, and helped Canada’s first online insurance marketplace (Kanetix.com) expand into the premier destination for customer-facing insurance solutions.
Education
I have an English degree from the University of Toronto.
English degree?! Why are you working in technology and not writing the great Canadian novel?
Maybe I am! But in the meantime, my children need wine, and after finishing my undergrad, I realized this new internet thing just might catch on. The rest, as they say, is history.
